THE HISTORY OF THE “WATER SUPPLY AND SEWAGE COMPANY – GOLDEN SANDS” OOD.
The water supply and sewage operator “Water Supply and Sewage Company – Golden Sands” OOD was formed as an independent economic unit on 29.10.2002 and is successor of “Komplekt Serviz Zlatni Piasaci” OOD. The “Water Supply and Sewage Company – Golden Sands” OOD of Varna was registered by company file No 2185/2002, volume 269, companies register 1, batch No 27, page 116, decision No 1955/24.03.05 of the District Court of Varna under unique identification code (UIC) 103783378 BG, at seat and managing address: Varna, Zlatni Piasaci resort, Office building Rila. The Company’s scope of activities is: operation and maintenance of water supply and sewage systems in Golden Sands resort and provision of engineering services. The "Water Supply and Sewage Company – Golden Sands” OOD is 100% privately owned. The Company is represented by Manager Veselin Cherkezov.
The “Water Supply and Sewage Company – Golden Sands” OOD provides water-supply and sewage management services in the territory of Golden Sands resort. Water treatment is carried out by “Water Supply and Sewage Company – Golden Sands” OOD since the water treatment facility situated in Golden Sands resort is property of the “Water Supply and Sewage Company – Golden Sands” OOD. The payments due to the “Water Supply and Sewage Company – Golden Sands” OOD for the water treatment service are booked as disinfection costs incurred in the waste-water treatment process.
The Company’s overall activities are directed and coordinated by the Company’s manager.
The Company is organized into the following departments: Accounting and Economic Dept, Emergency and Dispatcher Dept, Controlling and Water Payment Dept, Pumps and Drill-works facility; these departments are in continuous intercommunication.
The main mission of the “Water Supply and Sewage Company – Golden Sands” OOD is the providing of water supply and sewage services for the Golden Sands resort. The Company’s strategy is targeted at the providing of water supply and sewage services of the highest quality in the territory of the resort and the prompt connecting of new users to the Company’s water supply system. A Letter from the Varna Regional Inspectorate for Environment Protection and Waters of 31.05.2004 prescribes to the “Water Supply and Sewage Company – Golden Sands” OOD not to issue permits for connecting to the Golden Sands sewage system to newbuildings without the prior approval of the “Water Supply and Sewage Company Varna” OOD.
The strategy of the Water Supply and Sewage System Operator for working with users is being implemented through a plan for service quality improvement aimed at full conformity with the applicable European standards. Preventive measures aimed at the providing of a fully fault-free service are being undertaken through adequate maintenance of the water supply and sewage system. Evidence for this level of quality is the circumstance that no user complaints have been received in the recent years. The Water Supply and Sewage System Operator’s strategy has been directed to the furthering of this trend. The Water Supply and Sewage System Operator has its own Emergency and Dispatcher Department reachable 24-hour a day, suitably equipped and fit for the service providing.
The Water Supply and Sewage System Operator, through the Operator’s systems and facilities, provides for the delivery of main water-supply and sewage services to about 15 000 users under provisions of the Act for Regulating of Water Supply and Sewage Services, referring to:
Water supply
The Company uses two water sources for which it holds two permits for use (Permit for drilling works P-3X No 01610161/27.10.2008 and Permit for drilling works P-70X No 21610010/21.02.2012), which specify that the extracted water is spa water of the first and second category, suitable for drinking and domestic use.
Water Supply System
The Water Supply and Sewage System Operator operates 30.5 km of external water mains, 4.5 km of internal water-pipe network, or a total of 35 km of water-supply network. About 90% of the water supply system is constructed of polythene pipes of diameters from Ǿ 63 to Ǿ 400. The water is spa water of the first and second category, suitably aerated, chlorinated and filtered, extracted from deep-drilled wells.
The water sold in the territory covered by the Water Supply and Sewage System Operator is highly standardized under the Waters Act in compliance with Regulation No 009/2001. On the grounds of averaged data taken from the analyses made by the Regional Inspectorate for Protection and Control of Public Health, the water samples sent quarterly to the Ministry of Health throughout 2012, were found to be 100% standard in microbiological and physic-chemical aspect.
Sewage system
The “Water Supply and Sewage Company – Golden Sands” OOD owns, maintains and operates a fully developed sewage system in the resort. The sewage system of overall length of approximately 35 km is built of stoneware-, concrete-, PVC and corrugated polythene pipes ranging from Ǿ 160 to Ǿ 1000. Part of the sewage system has been renovated. The remaining part is scheduled to be renovated as well.
The Water Supply and Sewage System Operator has attained and maintains a complete continuity of water-supply process with two scheduled yearly interruptions.
The pollution of waste water is of domestic nature overall, and this refers to the total quantity of generated wastewater.
